Large Hall uses the longest timing. It is intended for a lush tail and, in the visible 120 BPM example, fills approximately one 4/4 bar.
Medium Room uses a shorter total time and can work well when you want clear space without a very long tail. The tool specifically notes it as useful for drums and guitars.
Tight Ambience uses the shortest total time and a shorter pre-delay. It is designed to add subtle space and glue rather than an obvious large-room effect.
These settings are musical starting points rather than exact simulations of physical rooms.
How Reverb Timing Is Calculated From BPM
The core timing relationship starts with the duration of a quarter note.
There are 60,000 milliseconds in one minute, so:
Quarter note (ms) = 60,000 ÷ BPM
At 120 BPM:
60,000 ÷ 120 = 500 ms
From that value:
- Half note = 1000 ms
- Whole note = 2000 ms
- Eighth note = 250 ms
- Sixteenth note = 125 ms
